Get your Shopify products into ChatGPT Shopping
If you sell on Shopify, your products already reach ChatGPT through Shopify Catalog. That gets them in the door. Whether ChatGPT recommends them depends on what each product says about itself.
What Shopify sends and what ChatGPT reads
Shopify Catalog passes your products to ChatGPT with the fields Shopify holds: title, description, price, availability, images, options and the category attributes from Shopify's taxonomy. ChatGPT matches a shopper's question against those fields. A linen blazer whose material option is empty and whose description never says linen cannot be matched to "a linen blazer", however good the product is.
What to fill in
The taxonomy attributes for the product's category, with Shopify's standard values. A description that states the facts a shopper asks about rather than the mood. Colour as a standard value beside your own shade name. A GTIN on every variant, or the manufacturer's part number where there is none. Those are the columns OpenAI's feed specification asks for, and they are the same columns Shopify already sends.
What Sighted does on Shopify
Sighted reads each product's description, options and photos, writes the attributes the category defines in your voice, maps each to Shopify's standard value, and on your approval writes them into the product's taxonomy fields and metafields. Shopify Catalog then carries them to ChatGPT. For a store that is also an approved OpenAI partner, Sighted builds a ChatGPT Shopping file to OpenAI's specification from the same data. On a schedule (weekly on Pro, monthly on Growth) it asks ChatGPT a set of real shopper questions about the kind of products you sell and records whether your store is named.
