ChatGPT product feed

The ChatGPT product feed is a full snapshot of your catalogue, one row per purchasable variant, in the columns OpenAI's specification lays out.

What is in it

An id, title, description, URL and image for each product. Price and sale price. Availability from a fixed list (in stock, out of stock, pre-order, backorder). Condition, brand, GTIN and MPN. A product category and a group id that ties variants together. Colour, size, material, gender and age group. Optional questions and answers. The seller's name, URL, countries and return policy. Titles are capped at 150 characters and descriptions at 5,000, which is more room than most stores use.

How it is delivered

OpenAI takes files, not URLs, and only from approved partners. You apply at chatgpt.com/merchants; once accepted, you upload a gzipped CSV, TSV, JSONL or Parquet file to the SFTP endpoint OpenAI gives you, as a full snapshot at least daily under a filename that does not change, or manage the feed in ChatGPT Ads Manager. A file in Google's Merchant Center format is accepted unchanged. A Shopify store's products reach ChatGPT through Shopify Catalog without any feed.

What Sighted does

Sighted builds the file to OpenAI's specification from your approved product data, one row per variant, ready for an approved partner to upload, and the Merchant Center feed OpenAI also accepts; both rebuild after each enrichment run. A product missing a required field is left out of that file rather than breaking it. The attribute columns are filled from your own data before anything else, so the feed carries more than a title and a price.
